In summer 2022, the company wpd Ísland ehf. was established in Reykjavík with the main objective of developing, constructing and operating onshore wind projects in Iceland. Strengthened by the experience of almost 30 successful years of the wpd Group, wpd Ísland ehf. is developing “green field” projects, together with local communities and Icelandic partners.
wpd plans and operates wind projects onshore as well as solar projects in Germany, Europe, Asia and on the American continent. We support projects for their whole duration, from the first idea to dismantling or possible repowering. We lease space, design the wind or solar parks in accordance with their individual requirements, take care of the permissions, structure the finance, secure the best terms for purchasing the technical equipment and guarantee that the project will run smoothly.
